Laundry Egg FAQs
Can the ecoegg Laundry Egg be left in for the whole wash cycle?
Yes. However, the ecoegg Laundry Detergent Egg MUST be removed for the final drying cycle if you have a washer-dryer.
Do I need to dry the ecoegg Laundry Egg between washes?
If you are doing several washes one after another, then you do not need to dry the ecoegg Laundry Egg between washes. However, once you have finished washing for the day, you should leave the ecoegg Laundry Egg out of the machine to dry.
Pair it with out Laundry Egg Holder to set out to dry or simply leave on a sunny windowsill.
Can the ecoegg Laundry Egg be used in all temperature washes?
The ecoegg Laundry Egg can be used in washes up to 60 degrees Celsius. Your ecoegg Laundry Egg will perform well in cold water washes and is also suitable for hand washing.
The natural mineral pellets in the ecoegg Landry Egg are not intended to be used above 60 degrees Celsius.

Refill FAQs
How do I know when my Laundry Detergent Egg is ready for a refill?
The frequency of how often you need to refill completely depends on how often and how much you do laundry.
There is a groove inside the egg case that indicates when you need to refill. Refer to the diagram on our instructions page.

Having trouble opening the Egg to refill?
You’re not alone! We’ve found that wearing rubber gloves while trying to open the Egg massively improves grip making the whole process a whole lot easier.
How do I dispose of my pellets once they’re used?
Your pellets can be placed in your general waste bin.
We’re still searching for ways to make our pellets compostable but in the meantime, you can refer to our blog ‘Wondering what to do with your old pellets? Here are a few tips to help you find creative ways to reuse your pellets’ for clever little ways to reuse your pellets.
What ingredients are in ecoegg Laundry Detergent Egg refill pellets?
The refill pellets include white mineral cleaning pellets that gently lift dirt and stains and black tourmaline pellets that ionize the water to help soften clothes naturally.
They are free from harsh chemicals like chlorine, phosphates, SLS/SLES, and parabens, making them suitable for sensitive skin.
Washing FAQs
How do the Laundry Detergent Pellets clean my clothes?
The gentle surfactants in the Laundry Egg Pellets help lift dirt from the fabrics. The surfactant molecules help water to take hold of the dirt and grease, break it up and wash it away. Other clever ingredients in the pellets ensure that dirt and grime in the water do not move back onto the fabrics and remain in the wash water.
The black tourmaline pellets naturally ionise the water making it slightly more alkaline. Alkaline water lifts dirt better but also softens the fibres of the clothes. Acidic water can be damaging to clothes and fibres.
Why does my washing not smell strong?
Our formula is designed to be gentle on sensitive skin and kind to your clothes. Traditional laundry detergents are full of chemicals, which often gives the impression that clean clothes have to have a strong smell to be clean. This is not true.
Our Eggs are hypoallergenic and dermatologically tested, meaning we’re completely safe for sensitive and allergy prone skin.
Do I still need to use fabric conditioner with the Egg?
No need! The Egg case moves around in your washing machine during the wash cycle and thus will help soften your clothes.
Can I use it with delicates / items that say don’t use fabric softener?
Yes! The ecoegg doesn’t leave a film on your clothing unlike normal fabric conditioners, therefore it is suitable for items which recommend not to use a fabric softener such as towels.
The softening aspect of the ecoegg comes from the physical action of the Egg in the drum working around your laundry, rather than chemicals.

Does ecoegg offer a guarantee or registration for its products?
Yes! Our Laundry Detergent Eggs and our Dryer Eggs come with a 10-year warranty.
Are ecoegg products hypoallergenic and dermatologically tested?
All our fragrances have been specially developed to be low irritant and low allergen. They are dermatologically tested, rated as ‘excellent’ on sensitive skin, making them suitable for both young skin as well as sensitive and allergy prone skin.
The Fragrance Free range has been developed for more severe skin conditions and sensitivities. Our Fragrance Free range has been curated in accordance with Allergy UK standards and has won awards for its ability to provide gentle, yet effective cleaning without causing irritation.
Is ecoegg cruelty-free and vegan-friendly?
Yes. All ecoegg products are vegan-friendly and not tested on animals and formulations are suitable for sensitive skin.
Our Fragrance Free range has been curated in accordance with Allergy UK standards and has won awards for its ability to provide gentle, yet effective cleaning without causing irritation.
