The Laundry Egg Basics

The ecoegg Laundry Egg contains two types of pellets that work together in harmony to clean your clothes. Your ecoegg pellets are housed in our reusable and refillable Laundry Egg Case. 

The two types of pellets are the white detergent pellets and the black tourmaline pellets, designed to clean your clothes effectively while remaining kind to sensitive skin.

The White Detergent Pellets

  • Surfactants

    The detergent pellets contain ingredients that are hydrophilic surfactants. They act like magnets, attracting water and grime to break up stains, and are the main 'washing' ingredient in most detergents.

  • Water Softening

    The detergent pellets also contain an ingredient helping to soften water in hard water areas. It’s a charmer. 

The Black Tourmaline Pellets

  • Water Optimisation

    The black tourmaline pellets reduce the surface tension of the water, working alongside the surfactants in the white pellets. By lowering the surface tension, the water becomes more “wetter,” which means it can penetrate textile fibres more effectively, improving the cleaning process.

  • Ionisation

    Tourmaline pellets naturally ionize the water, making it slightly more alkaline. Alkaline water is better at lifting dirt and stains from fabrics, improving the overall cleaning efficiency.

The ecoegg Dryer Balls are egg‑shaped, reusable dryer balls that shorten drying time, soften laundry and optionally fragrance it—all without using fabric softener or harsh chemicals.
