ecoegg Oxi Whitener Guide | How to Use for Brighter Whites & Stain Removal
Share
Last week our much-loved Oxi Whitener returned to our product line-up. If you’ve been with us for a while, you’ll know that the Oxi Whitener has been a part of our range before. But if it’s new to you, we thought we’d take the time to explain how to use our Oxi Whitener and share some tips to get the best results possible.
About our Oxi Whitener
The ecoegg Oxi Whitener is a powder lifting agent, designed to lift stains, neutralise odours and make your whites dazzle like new again.
We know a lot of you miss our Whites+Lights Laundry Egg, so we saw this as the perfect opportunity to launch a product that will fill that gap and not require our new customers to buy a new Laundry Egg.
You’ll receive the Oxi Whitener with a 100% compostable and biodegradable scoop to make measuring each dose easier.
How to get the best results
There’s two ways you can use our Oxi Whitener. You can either opt for a soak or a wash. We’ll start by taking you through the soaking method.
Soak
We recommend you soak your laundry prior to washing if you have a lot of set in stains or stains that haven’t been treated properly.
You’ll want to start by filling up a tub or a sink with hot water. Add one to two scoops of Oxi Whitener to your hot water. Add all the white laundry that needs a refresh. Make sure to submerge it completely under the Oxi water mixture.
Let it soak. The time to soak will depend on the laundry and stains you’re tackling. As a general guide, we’ve detailed some timings below. We don’t recommend soaking your clothes for longer than 6 hours.
- Laundry that needs a quick refresh: 1 hour
- Not yet set stains: 1-2 hours
- Heavily stained or stains that have had a long time to set in: 3-5 hours
Top tip
To make sure you get the most out of every dose, check in on your soaking laundry every hour. We recommend giving your garments a rub in the stained areas to loosen them up & check in on how well the stains are lifting.
Wash
If you’re after a quick refresh for your clothes, why not opt for a quick treatment. Simply add one to two scoops of Oxi Powder in the drawer of your washing machine. Follow up with your Laundry Egg and Scent Booster and you’re good to go!

For colours
Before you dive right in, test an inconspicuous area of your colours prior to considering soaking. We recommend washing in cold water to prevent any colour fastness occurring.
